Patient Consultation Appointments

We would like to welcome and thank you for taking an interest in the unique, individualized services offered here at Reeds Compounding Pharmacy. We specialize in providing our patients with customized medications by compounding each prescription here in our pharmacy. Compounding is the process in which the pharmacist uses pure ingredients (chemicals, natural substances, or hormones) to make your medications. Your prescription is tailored to the exact dose by our pharmacy and made into the dosage form prescribed by your health care provider.

Reed’s Compounding Pharmacy compounds a variety of things including customized hormone replacement therapy using plant derived hormones that have the same molecular structure as those that are made by the human body. The PHARMACIST will work with YOU and your HEALTH CARE PROVIDER within the triad of care to address your healthcare concerns. We are a pharmacy dedicated to individualizing the needs of all our patients. We look forward to working with you to achieve your goals and we will work hard to help you reach them. In order to accomplish these goals, we feel that it is important that our patients know us personally and have realistic expectations about the therapy.

What Can I Expect?

A pharmacist will review your symptoms, medical history, current medications and supplements, diet, lifestyle and labs if available. Your appointment will last 30-60 minutes.

We will work closely with your health care provider to find the right therapy to meet your needs. It is important for you, as the patient to communicate regularly with your provider about your goals. If your provider needs more information about compounded hormone replacement therapy, we would be happy to provide it to him or her. The success of your therapy is greatly dependent upon a positive provider/patient/pharmacist relationship.

Every patient is different and your therapy will be tailored specifically to your needs. Unlike the commercial hormone replacement therapies with only a few available strengths, with compounded hormone replacement therapy we can formulate any dosage in a variety of forms, according to your personal needs.

There will be an adjustment period of approximately three months, though the time frame may vary slightly from one patient to the next. During this initial period, it is important for you to keep track of your symptoms. Your feedback is paramount in fulfilling your goals. Many symptoms may be related to hormone imbalance. Success with this therapy requires patience and consistent communication with your health care professionals.

We are here for your health and will be actively involved in helping you achieve your desired outcomes. Our pharmacists are available for personal counseling sessions and are happy to make suggestions to address any questions or concerns that you may have.

Preparing for Your Appointment

In order to prepare for your appointment, please create an account in our secure patient portal. Once you have created your account, your pharmacist will send you paperwork to complete prior to your appointment. Please fill out the paperwork, save it and then upload it through the patient portal no later than 24 hours prior to your appointment along with any other helpful information or lab results. If you are expecting lab results to be faxed to the pharmacy, please call the day before your appointment to verify that we have received your results. Please call the pharmacy if you need assistance with creating your account, completing your paperwork or uploading documents. If you must cancel your appointment, a 24 hour notice is requested. In the event that we do not receive sufficient notice, you may be charged for the appointment. Adequate time is needed to notify other patients of openings. We look forward to meeting with you.
