Martie joined the Reed’s clinical pharmacy staff in July 2010. Ms. Fankhauser is a board certified psychiatric pharmacist (BCPP) specializing in psychiatry and neurology. As part of the team, she provides consultation and education services for the Tucson community at Reed’s Compounding Pharmacy.
She has served as a clinical professor for the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy for the past 28 years. In addition, she has done consulting work in a variety of practice sites. Her main focus is the treatment of conditions that affect the nervous system. This includes the treatment of psychiatric and neurologic disorders as well as substance dependence and abuse.
As a neuropsychiatric pharmacist consultant, Ms. Fankhauser facilitates seminars and lectures and is available to assist patients and their families in understanding the various treatment approaches of psychiatric and neurologic disorders. Her goal is to achieve the best outcomes in the mental and physical health of her patients. She makes assessments based on personal and family data and recommends safe and effective treatments that reduce drug combinations, interactions, and side effects. Ms. Fankhauser will be providing information about current issues with medication treatments, non-drug therapies, hormone replacement, appropriate disease management and pharmacogenetic counseling.
